Homemade Oreos - Recipe!

Ingredients

2 (18 ounce) boxes devil's food cake mix
4 eggsbeaten well
2/3 cup oil

1/2 cup butter
4 ounces cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Cookies:

  • Mix cake mix, eggs and oil together well.

  • Shape into marble size balls. Flatten with the bottom of a glass.

  • Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. They are done when the tops looked cracked.

  • I left the cookies on the cookie sheet for about 4 minutes and slipped them off to a cooling rack. They were soft and chewy.

Filling:

  • Mix butter, cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla together.

  • When cookies are completely cooled, frost the flat side of one cookie and then sandwich with another cookie.

  • Store in refrigerator. They are perfect for the freezer, too. They are best thawed at room temperature. (I got impatient for that chewy texture and nuked 'em for 9 seconds and the filling oozed out! Definitely edible still, but so yummy when the filling has that stiffer consistency.)

Yay....these were ssoooooo good!
After devouring Liam's in 2 bites (major confession there), I was convinced you had bought a bag of the real deal and scrapped the filling out to use in your own 'homemade' ones. I mean, that filling was SPOT ON the same as the real deal. Dee-lish!

Thanks for being so generous as to share a recipe so yummy...
